I've just agreed with my publisher to include a glossary at the back of my novel, and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how it should be formatted.

    Cheers all,

    Nik.

Do you mean in terms of the layout of it? If so, I imagine this would be something that the page designer would worry about really. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

It depends on your subject too. If I was doing it, I'd design the glossary for a children's vampire story very differently to a non-fiction guide to steam engines. A glossary for a kids book could be quite a fun thing to do, requiring illustrations and more friendly or fun explanations. It could even be in the voice of the narrator, which wouldn't really work for a medical book or a car manual.
