25-11-08  V`yonne just got a Micro Horror Competiton prize for the second year in a row with 'The Final Chapter'. She has 4 stories being published in The Very Best of Every Day Fiction and has a total of 14 pieces on line this month - a new personal best.
24-11-08  Nik Perring 's poem 'Slug' has been published by The Pygmy Giant.
18-11-08  nessiec reached the final 12 of the 'Find a Costa Judge' competition and will be taking part in a debate chaired by Joanna Trollope in London.
17-11-08  nr 's YA novel 'Alis' was shortlisted in the children's book category of the Glen Dimplex New Writers Awards
14-11-08  titania177 is the European regional winner of the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association short story competition 2008-9.
11-11-08  Rainstop has been shortlisted for the Aesthetica Magazine creative works competition in the fiction category. As a finalist, he will be published in a book that will be available in Borders nationwide from 8 December. An earlier draft of the story was posted on WW for critiques.
05-11-08  CarolineSG won first prize in the 12+ category of the Little Tiger Press Children’s Writing Competition at the Winchester Writer’s Conference this summer.
08-10-08  Myrtle has just signed a deal with Chicken House for her YA novel, due for publication Spring 2010.
24-09-08  hopper2607 's 'Scars Beneath The Skin,' has been accepted for publication by Flambard Press, due out May/June 2009. hopper2607 writes: "WriteWords has been a big help in getting to this point. I heard about Flambard through this site and received some very useful feedback on uploaded novel chapters."
20-09-08  Nik Perring has a short story live at Bewildering Stories; his short story, How Do You Solve The Cube? will appear in Espresso Fiction next month, and Counting Rain will appear in Ballista in Feb 2009.
01-09-08  V`yonne is to be the managing editor of the new magazine Every Day Poets - sister to Every Day Fiction. Her work has recently appeared in Bewildering Stories, Static Movement, Micro Horror and Every Day Fiction. She is currently also in The Shine Journal and work will appear soon in the Short Humour Anthology, Flashquake and Ink Sweat and Tears. Oonah came 4th in Doorknobs and BodyPaint Dorsal contest.
20-08-08  titania177 won 2nd prize in the Vignette Press short story contest and 3rd prize in the Momaya short story competition. Her prose poem, Birthday Cake, was published by Ink, Sweat and Tears, and her flash story, We Keep the Wall Between Us as We Go, will be published in the inaugural issue of A cappella Zoo.
14-08-08  tiger_bright was one of July's Micro Fish Showcase winners. She currently has stories in Six Sentences, Pygmy Giant, Literary Fever and The Beat
10-08-08  optimist 's short story, Soon, will be published in Bewildering Stories
23-07-08  Nik Perring has one story in the current issue of Twisted Tongue and another, live, on Serendipity
03-07-08  lola2004 's first novel By The Time You Read This... has been published by Harper Collins
01-07-08  Becca has won the Bristol Review of Books Short Story Prize for 'The River'.
23-06-08  Account Closed 's novel Cheetah has won the Iota Publishing's 2008 writing contest. The prize is $1000 and a publishing contract.
19-06-08  scottwil 's novel - The Sleepwalker's Introduction to Flight - was published by Macmillan New Writers last month. My play - Jammed- was staged last week by Centro Productions at the Carriageworks Theatre, Leeds. My short story - The Ways of the Country - will be broadcast by Sharp Things next month.
16-06-08  nessiec has been longlisted for the Waterstones Childrens Book Prize 2009 with 'Zelah Green'
13-06-08  RJH 's one-act play, The People's Act of Literature, is one of the three winners of this year's Windsor Fringe Drama Award.
04-06-08  Becca and Joel Willans have been short listed for the inaugural Bristol Short Story Prize.
01-06-08  titania177 is one of three winners of the 2008 Biscuit Flash Fiction competition. 2 of her flash stories have just been accepted for broadcast on the Rethink Daily podcast (which she heard about through WriteWords), and several other flash stories will be published shortly in Literary Fever, Juice, Magazine Minima and SouthWord.
27-05-08  Rosalie-Warren 's first novel, "Charity's Child" by Rosalie Warren, has been accepted for publication by Circaidy Gregory Press and will appear on 16th June 2008
25-05-08  V`yonne had 10 works published online in April and a further 4 in May. Her poem, Ludek's Dawn was published in the Polish Sailing magazine Zeszyty Zeglarskie in English with Polish translation and has also been accepted for Bewildering Stories. Oonah has work coming up in The Ranfurly Review, Boston Literary Magazine, Shine, Every Day Fiction and Static Movement in June.
21-05-08  cherys was shortlisted for Fish Criminally Short, highly commended for The New Writer Short Fiction and has just won the overall prize of £1000 in the inaugural Conan Doyle New Fiction Prize.
15-05-08  optimist 's flash story Prometheus is published in HeavyGlow
08-05-08  Maria_S won first prize in the Writers' News Magazine's short story competition and her story will be published in Writers' News in a few months time. Her novel 'A Time to Tell' has been awarded the 'Top Choice Award' on Flamingnet.com.
08-05-08  Joel has had one story accepted for publication by Brand magazine and another accepted by Penumbra. He also won third prize in JBWB spring short story competition.
30-04-08  sheilab 's novel - As Chance Would Have It - made it to the final 4 in the Wannabe a Writer novel writing competition. Sheila has also been accepted onto this year's Apprenticeships in Fiction scheme.
16-04-08  Joel has had 3 stories shortlisted for the 2007 Circle Prize. His story "Not the End of Everything" eventually came third and will be published in the winners anthology. Another story "In the Constitution" finished in top five of the Happenstance Short Story Comp. He has also had stories accepted for publication by Southword, the Irish Lit magazine, and Everyday fiction.
06-04-08  nr 's YA novel 'Alis' has been longlisted for the Branford Boase Award 2008 and shortlisted for the Sheffield Children's Book Award 2008.
27-03-08  Joel has had a story highly commended in JBWB short story competition and two others accepted for publication by Big Pulp and Smokebox. Another has just been published in the anthology Spreading Wings.

10-03-08  Nik Perring 'Seconds are Ticking By' will be published in Smokelong Quarterly on March 15th.
27-02-08  Luisa 's novel for teenagers, Split by a Kiss, will be published by the Corgi imprint of Random House Children's Books on 6th March.
18-02-08  titania177 has had three flash stories accepted for publication by the Ranfurly Review and another story accepted by Greatest Uncommon Denominator.

29-01-08  V`yonne aka Oonah V Joslin has had work published in Bewildering stories, Static Movement, Twisted Tongue and Every Day Fiction in January. She is repeating this success in these same publications in February. She has also had five poems accepted for the June Issue of the Ranfurly Review.
04-01-08  Nik Perring will have two poems in Shine in February.
