30-12-07  V`yonne (Oonah V Joslin) won the Halloween Drabble contest in Micro Horror. Her poem Ships has been selected for the Quarterly Review in Bewildering Stories.
16-12-07  titania177 has just launched the second issue of The Short Review (www.theshortreview.com). She has also had stories accepted for the next issue of Riptide, Brand magazine, LauraHird.com, and an anthology inspired by String Theory, and stories published on Every Day Fiction and Cafe Irreal.
07-12-07  Nik Perring has one story up at Un-Made-up (http://nsblog.co.uk/wshaw ) and another in issue 8 of Twisted Tongue.
02-12-07  Joel has come 2nd, out of nearly 500 entries, in the City of Derby Short Story Competition. He has also manged to get 3rd place in Writespace Forbidden Friends comp and 4th place in the H.E Bates Short Story Competition. His story will be published in the winners anthology early in 2008

01-12-07  tiger_bright won the Fish Historical-Crime Award and was runner-up in the Historical section, and so will have two stories in the Fish Anthology 2008. Thanks to everyone in FF1 who encouraged and helped with the stories
25-11-07  scottwil 's novel 'The Sleepwalker's introduction to flight' will be published by Macmillan, May 2008.
15-11-07  tiger_bright 's story, Cyber Candy, is in the Fall issue of the Boston Literary Magazine. Her flash, The Lost Vermeer, was in the final issue of Static Movement. Her drabble, Crossing the line, is in Idlewheel. Every Day Fiction published her flash, The Ravages of Tim, in October and will publish Waiting Room in November. LitBits is publishing Down to Earth later in the month, and Crimson Highway will be publishing A Feast for Athene.
30-10-07  V`yonne Oonah's drabbles Recruitment, Autumn Fruits, The Escape and Name of the Ride are in Micro Horror now. The Milgram Hypothesis was accepted by Bewildering Stories and Missy's Summer by Every Day Fiction. She has also taken the Remembrance Day spot on Nov 11th in EDF with The Brave.
24-10-07  Jem has had 3 serials published in Woman's Weekly as well as two stories accepted for publication. A fourth four-part serial will appear in the magazine in January 08. She has also had four stories bought by Take A Break, a story published by The Lady, three stories sold to two (different) Norwegian women's agazines and a story published Australian Women's Weekly.
04-10-07  Tina Has had the poem 'Hansel's Story' accepted for Decanto Magazine ' October 07; has had five poems accepted for RedInk ' Winter 07 and was a runner up in the Blinking Eye Poetry Competition ' her poem 'On the Heap' will appear in their 2007 winners anthology
01-10-07  V`yonne 's flash "Cruising" has been accepted by 13 Human Souls and poem "Matricide" will be in the November issue of Twisted Tongue.
24-09-07  tiger_bright 's story, Yesterday's Man, is in issue 261 of Bewildering Stories; Her flash, Lolita's Lynch Mob, appeared recently in Every Day Fiction; Colour Run is in The Beat magazine; and Cherry Stones is in Static Movement. Her short story, LoveFM, appeared in issue 95 of Zygote in my Coffee.
06-09-07  mariaharris has a 2-book deal negotiated by agent Peter Cox at Redhammer with Elaine McQuade at Scholastic Children's Books for a children's adventure series titles, "The Joshua Files". The first book, "Invisible City" will be published in Feb 2008.
04-09-07  Elbowsnitch has a story in the first issue of Brand literary magazine (University of Greenwich) and one in Short Fiction (University of Plymouth Press). Another of her very short stories is to be made into an artwork by students at MMU, as part of their Urban Myths project. Thank you to everyone in the WW flash fiction groups!
03-09-07  nessiec #s first non-fiction 'Virginia Woolf's Women' (2002) has been published in France this week by Payot Et Rivages under the title 'Les femmes de Virginia Woolf', bringing total number of foreign language deals to four.
02-09-07  titania177 has had two stories accepted for publication by Every Day Fiction Her short story, Drinking Vodka in the Afternoon, will be broadcast on Radio 4 in October; and her first short story collection will be published by Salt Publishing in 2008.

12-08-07  tiger_bright 's Cover Blown, is in the HeavyGlow Anthology just published and available to buy online at www.lulu.com. The Anthology also features flash fiction by other writers from WW's Flash Forum
10-08-07  smudger 's short story The Last Siberian Tigress has been accepted by the audio website www.shortalk.co.uk It will be recorded by an actor and made available as an audio download from Shortalk’s website.
10-08-07  tiger_bright 's flash, The Feather Pheasant Hat, is in the new edition of FourVolts / Neon Literary Magazine
04-08-07  Lola Dane 's Rainy Days and Tuesdays became an original fiction top ten bestseller in Ireland after it's release in June.
23-07-07  Elsie is one of the three winner's of the Templar Poetry Pamphlet competition, judged by Jean Sprackland. Her collection 'Test Paper' will be published in October 2007.
20-07-07  nessiec has accepted a two-book deal with Egmont. The first book for 11+ age group, 'Zelah Green: Queen of Clean' will be out January 2009. "I got my agent through WW and am very grateful"
18-07-07  Sappholit 's first novel, Mothernight, will be the lead title of Snowbooks for spring 2008. Sappholit says "I wouldn't have heard of Snowbooks if I hadn't joined WW, so that's very cool. Thanks!"
05-07-07  tiger_bright 's drabble, Bay Watch, is in the Summer issue of the Boston Literary Magazine (which contains a hat trick of entries by WW stalwarts from Flash Forum 1!)

12-06-07  Account Closed 's Practical Devil Worship (For All the Family) has been nominated for Best Novella by the British Fantasy Awards 2007. Three of his short stories, Amatuer Pneumatics, Half Light House and Under the Scarecrow's Watchful Eye are all in the Best Short Fiction category too.
21-05-07  KatyJackson 's first non-fiction book, "The Self-build Survival Guide: How to Survive Building or Renovating your Dream Home - the Eco-friendly Way" will be published by How To Books in July 2007.

14-03-07  Nessie has won the 2007 Paddon Award (The annnual Arts Award for current and past students and staff of Exeter University). Chairing the judges was travel writer Rory MacLean.
12-03-07  Prospero 's stories 'Cheaper than buffalo' and 'What you see is what you get' are both to be published in issue 8 of Heavy Glow.

21-01-07  crowspark has had his flash fiction “Reach” accepted for publication by Static Motion. This marks his 50th flash fiction publication since joining Writewords. His flash “The far off beat of wings” was reprinted at Apollo’s Lyre in their “Best of the Best 2006” and his flash “Resting Place” has been reprinted by Mytholog in their “Fourth Annual Retrospective Awards.”

10-01-07  Nessie was a finalist in the Willesden Short Story Competition, judged by Zadie Smith; and has been invited to read a story at Short Fuse, a new regular short story /music/performance event at the Komedia, Brighton.
