16-12-05  Dee 's short story, Hunter's Quarry won first prize in Airedale Writers' Circle annual competition and Storm's Warning was highly commended.
13-12-05  engldolph 's Into the Light won 3rd prize in the annual Coffee House Poetry competition, after begin honed in the poetry writers group 2004.

05-12-05  allyb25 's I'll Never Fall In Love Again, was chosen as the story of the month for December at www.darkfiction.co.uk.
02-12-05  Nik Perring 's novel for children, "I met a Roman last night, what did you do?" will be published in September 2006.
28-11-05  Mac AM 's "Union Street, 6th June" was long listed for the Bridport Poetry Prize 2005

16-11-05  Red Monkey (Jane McNulty) has written her fourth episode of DOCTORS. Titled Something to Hold On To, it tells the story of Craig whose love for Meriel could really be the death of her.....
10-11-05  Jubbly 's radio play The Andy Warhol Syndrome , co-written with Jennny Eclair - will be broadcast on Radio 4 at 2.15pm on Monday 14th November 2005.
24-10-05  EmmaD 's story 'Russian Tea' was shortlisted for the Fish Short Histories Prize. Her story 'Closing Time' was longlisted for the 2005 Bridport Prize.
18-10-05  Myrtle is to be represented by Rosemary Canter at PFD
04-10-05  Elbowsnitch 's tiny untitled story has won the Spread the Word microstory competition, over-16s section

24-08-05  rogernmorris 's novel, Taking Comfort, will be published by Macmillan New Writing, Spring 2006
20-08-05  Richard Conlon has just received an Arts Council England grant to develop a major work for young casts based on the life of Victorian philanthropist Croline Chisholm. The piece will be created by working with a newly opened Northampton school named after the social reformer.
17-08-05  crowspark 's Flash Fiction piece, "Earth's secrets", has been accepted by Flashshot.
17-08-05  Elbowsnitch 's story 'Bistro and Cemetery' received an honourable mention in the Momaya Short Story Competition 2005 and will be published in their Annual Review
14-08-05  lieslj says: 'A great big thank you to everyone who helped me deliberate over Logbook. I just heard that it took first place in South Africa's People Opposing Women Abuse Writing Competion.'
12-08-05  scottwil has come second in the Yeovil Literary Prize with Somnambulant

10-08-05  Joel 's story The Cost of Advertising is to be published in the short story collection The Remarkable Everyday by Legend Press available from all good bookshops from the 22nd October.
10-08-05  Account Closed 's The Incandescent Beauty of the Atrophied Soul has been published on the Neometropolis Cyberpunk website.
07-08-05  Prospero 's story 'The Last Rites' has won the Dorsals contest in issue 39 of Doorknobs and BodyPaint.
07-08-05  crowspark has had a flash fiction piece, "Another coffee?" accepted for the 8/17 edition of Somewhat.org
04-08-05  lieslj has had poems workshopped on WriteWords, Stones and Covert Operation featured in The Hiss Quarterly
21-07-05  Mac AM is a Mslexia Poetry Competition winner with Under Trees, published in Issue 26
20-07-05  Account Closed is to be represented by Agent John Jarrold.
18-07-05  crowspark had two pieces of flash accepted this month, "Gravity pulls" was accepted by Flashshots and "Bad timing" was accepted by Rivendell Writers Gazette.
16-07-05  sahelsteve has had his debut children's book 'Sophie and the Albino Camel' (ages 7+) accepted by Andersen Press, to be published in February 2006.
14-07-05  mabel 's 'Firestarter Red' has been accepted by Scifantastic magazine's launch issue in August and also on Laura Hird's showcase page in September.
06-07-05  EmmaD has accepted a two-book contract from Headline, for her novel Shadows in the Glass. Her next novel is provisionally titled A Polished Lamp. The deal is for UK and Commonwealth rights including Canada, and translation rights. US rights are retained by Gillon Aitken.
27-06-05  SmithBrowne has had five poems accepted for the autumn 2004 issue of "FRiGG" and one other for the next issue of "Poetry Monthly." All were previously workshopped on WW.
25-06-05  scottwil has a short story in the Summer Solstice issue of Bonfire
25-06-05  Account Closed has won 1st prize in the Haibun competition and says: 'Many thanks to the Haiku & Short Poetry Group who helped me to get my entry into shape!' as well as a Commendation in the Page of Prose competition.
20-06-05  Kara 's short story "In My Dreams You All Speak Somali" is featured in a new anthology about refugees called Soft Touch.
19-06-05  Account Closed has just taken 3rd prize in the Free Verse category of Northampton Literature Group's annual poetry competition, with the poem "Bravery comes in many forms".
18-06-05  Fearless 's poem 'Pretender to the Throne' was given 3rd place in the Creating Reality Open Poetry Competition 2005.
18-06-05  lieslj 's Friends of Bill has won second place in the Tattoo Highway contest

27-05-05  bjlangley will have four of his sketches broadcast on ITV1's Shoot the Writers in the Autumn, as well as being featured himself in a video intro .
27-05-05  EmmaD has just been awarded an MPhil from the University of Glamorgan for her novel Shadows in the Glass, and a critical paper, 'Reading, Writing and Desire in A.S.Byatt's Possession'. She has also been taken on as a client by Clare Alexander at Gillon Aitken Associates.
22-05-05  eyeball won third prize in the July issue of Writers' Forum with 'Chalk', a story that appeared on WriteWords last year.
19-05-05  Lisa 's play Mango, workshopped on WriteWords, has just been nominated for the Lost Theatre One Act Play Festival 2005 at the Diorama Theatre NW1
16-05-05  Account Closed won 2nd prize in the Pulsar Poetry competition.

14-05-05  EmmaD 's story Nunc Dimittis is Highly Commended in Cadenza's most recent competition. It will be published in Cadenza 14, in December.
12-05-05  lieslj has had 5 poems accepted by Bonfire magazine, including Secret Signs, Confessions on Listening to a Beloved, and Career Change After The Orchestra's Closure, which were all workshopped on WriteWords. She has also had The Air of Words accepted by Prairie Dog 13, and 3 flashes accepted by Chimurenga, including Waiting for the Lotto, again workshopped on WW.

01-04-05  EmmaD 's story Russian Tea is a runner up in the Phillip Good Memorial Prize 2004, which is run by QWF Magazine. Her story Closing Time is part of the pilot issue of Leaf, a new project publishing individual short stories

1-02-05 Beanie Baby 's story "Grandma's Spider" is due to be published in "Man In The Moon" (New Fiction imprint, Forward Press) in the spring. 4th self published poetry book for GOSCH has almost sold out.
