Profile	English was my best subject at school and I like to say that, if I had listened to my heart rather than my chemistry teacher, I would have become a writer. But I did listen to my chemistry teacher, and became a professional scientist. Along the way I became interested in the history of science, and wrote two books in that area. Now I teach writing to science and engineering students and, in my spare time, write fiction. I’m really enjoying being able to make things up!
