Graham Povey

The novel is set in the fictional village of Rodino, in the silver birch forests of Northern Russia. The descriptions are based on the ten years I have lived in Russia, and my travels to other far flung parts of the former Soviet Union. The theme of the book is the tension within all of us - between refuge and curiosity, between knowledge and the danger it brings, between acceptance and desire – and the different paths each of us follows in resolving these tensions.
