WriteWords talks to Unthank Books

Tell us all about Unthank; history, ethos, aims, people involved

We are friends who share similar interests and taste in books. We decided it was time to stop standing on the sidelines and start to promote the sort of books we really enjoy.

Who’s on your list and why?

Our first book published this month is TOUCHING THE STARFISH by Ashley Stokes, a comic meta-fictional masterpiece set in the shady underworld of creative writing classes. Think LUCKY JIM meets TRISTRAM SHANDY!

We have two more novels in the pipeline for this year along with a collection of shorter prose or Unthology as we like to call it.

What excites you about a piece of writing-

We like books that have a noticeable and vivid style and which are not afraid to veer from the bland and predictable. We enjoy new ideas, strange visions and parallel universes which still manage to say something about our world and how we live now.

and what makes your heart sink?

Bad prose, bad sex scenes, derivative ideas, bandwagon jumpers and pale imitations.

Nice to know, good interview.
Checked your website; link in the text is broken and should have ".com" at the end.
