WriteWords talks to Rae Earl, author of My Fat Mad Teenage Diary and WriteWords member Cabbagesahoy

Where and when did you start to write?

I think it was on my window sill when I was 7. It was about the two rival kebab vans in my street.I wrote a brilliant first line then stopped. This still happens.

What do you love about writing?

Freedom.

Do you write in any other forms?

I write poetry badly and often

What are your other passions?

Horses (though I don't have one) Train stations and train travel in general. Put me on the East Coast mainline in a decent seat and that is heaven. Peterborough to Edinburgh - glorious.

What distracts you from your writing?

All of the above. You Tube. Facebook, Twitter. Skype. My mum's gossip from Morrisons.

I agree about that railway journey, Rae. Melons - hmm - I think the honeydew ones are nice but I agree water melons are overrated. I guess the clue is in the name. Really enjoyed MFTD. Looking forward to a second series!

While block blast games have no time limit, the pressure comes from constantly having to find space for the blocks. Every time you place a block, you are using up valuable space.

The ultimate goal of the player when playing block blast is not to "win", but to achieve the highest score possible before the grid is completely filled.
