Have you got a good exercise for writers?
James BurgeI imagine my prose being read out on the radio and I ask myself, do I find it interesting? If the answer is no I change it.

Patrick DillonNo exercise. But the more you do, the better you get. Writers are like trumpet players: they can lose their chops.

Ron MorgansI follow Twyla Tharp’s teachings. She is the legendary New York ballet choreographer. In her book The Creative Habit (Simon & Schuster) she explains how any creative person in any discipline should prepare for work. Basically, routine builds muscle memory which, in time, opens the creative path. The harder you work at it the more ‘talented’ you become. Great book. ISBN is 978-0-7432-3527-3
