Went to see this with the kids at the weekend and mistakedly booked the 3D version. On the whole i think 3D animated movies are overrated and too expensive - i saw Bolt in 3D and it didn't have the wow factor for me.
I have to say though, this film in 3D was amazing! For those unfamiliar with the plot, a young inventor develops a machine which can convert water into any sort of food. It is blasted into the sky and consequently rains down all manner of meals onto a small sardine-fishing town which is badly in need of the income subsequent tourism from this invention provides.
The characters are humourous and original and there is a romance to boot. But just go to wallow in the giant burgers and steaks and all manner of nosh pouring down and reaching out to you in the audience. Revel in the magic of the kids sleighing in icecream and snowball-fighting with mint choc-chip. Gasp at the evil mayor who, during the course of the story, puts on about ten stone.
It's a great film for foodies so be warned - the first thing i did when i got home was knock back a coffee accompanied by an array of edible goodies...
