Actually I used to write utter crap at school - maudlin poems about dying dogs and things like that. I cringe just thinking about it!

    Sorry, did someone say 'Go'?

Okay Sue, but I've got a copy of you're opening lines, so you can't change them now - whatever wordy and tc come up with for March and April!

'S'okay, wordy. We'll sort her out!

Any one else have Stick Insects at school? Unfeasible looking things, but they seemed to work OK. Lived on Privet hedge, I seem to recall. We nice little childers would bring them juicy bits every time our Dad's cut their hedges!

We had hamsters, too. Everyone wanted to take the hamsters home for the holidays, no-one ever wanted the Stick Insects, pore things.
Wonder if you can still get them, (Stick Insects I mean, not hamsters). Think I'd quite like one. And one of those Seahorses you used to see advertised in the back of Marvel Comics...and an ant farm, now that would be cool..!

Anyone dare me to put all these in my opening line for April!!

Oh, sorry, just re-read the previous posts and realised we weren't actually talking about pets at school..."teacher's pet" someone said, which of course means something entirely different...
Folks, just ingore me. I'm very happy in my own little world, hic!

Sorry chaps. Old tc's lost it again. Time for her medication, nurse.

Now, no fuss, dear. Just toddle off back to your room. I'll send your tea up later (if you behave!)

I used to have a wonderful dog called Tom. He was half Alsatian, half Bull Terrier. My sister had giant stick insects (to each their own, I suppose) which she allowed to roam free on her pot plants – and I do mean ‘pot’ plants . These stick insects were about six inches long, a pinkish-brown colour and not the most alert things you would come across - possibly due to their strange diet.

One day, just as she was bemoaning the fact that she only had one stick insect left, I noticed that Tom was chewing on what looked like a large rubber band… I guess you’re probably ahead of me by now… needless to say, Tom was not welcome at her place again…

Thank you for bringing that memory back to the surface, tc!

Tea? tea! If it's not gin I ain't going nowhere, matey.

Might have known you wouldn't appreciate the finer qualities of Stick Insects, Jumb.
They really were terribly clever..all sort of greeny-browny and stick like.
Wonder how they got their name, always puzzled me that has..

If I had one now, it wouldn't half come in handy to stir my G&T. Could even stick a Nolive on its head, just to be really classy, like..

Overheard today, re Wordsworth, "You know, that mush what wrote about daffodils" Ain't education a fine thing?

Happpy weekend tout le monde. Be joyful for the RLG is done!

Nice one jumb! Now that WOULD be classy. Wonder if you can train them? Here Sticky, Sticky..now...sit!
Parrots? Wouldn't like to stir my G&T with one. But they are engaging things. A relative had one and when it was naughty she would spray it with water from one of those plastic bottles you get to spray your houseplants. When it saw her coming, it would hold it's wings over it's face to hide it.
Didn't talk much though. Probably, knowing my Relly, couldn't get a word in edgeways!
