So damn sensible. Now why didn't I think of that!

    February the 1st, it is!!

Pity the person who has to do April.

Dee, out with it girl! Are you trying to tell me something...?

OK, I'll do April's one. I have month or so to think of the most poetic-y line I can think of, just to make all you 'shorties' squirm like "car door" did me.
Think I'm going to enjoy this one...
By the way, has anyone else noticed that there's not that much poetry being uploaded right now? Seems to be lots of prose, or is that just my comprehension of things?
I don't mind in the slightest,(she said very quickly), just wondering where all the poets have got to.
Maybe New Year not a good time for inspiration.

"Oh, fissure in my heart, why cans't thou ne'er be healed"

"And we will merrily, merrily go a-rambling"

" 'All words are dead', my sad refrain"

Ooh, I'm warming up nicely already, here's to April, chaps

I think the RLG should come with a health warning!

Would you like to write one, e.g.? You could use your suggestion as the opening line...

Oh yes... I see what you mean... I've been... gasp...

I don't know. I leave you alone for a couple of days and all sorts of strange things happen. Has tc lost it? Quoting lines of poetry, and scaring Dee like that!!

tc, it's interesting to note your perception of the balance between poetry and prose. When you look in the 'top ten favourites' it seems (to me) there is always more poetry than prose. Does this mean anything? Probably not.

But, in any case, no more scary bits, please

    Hi Jumb..et al
(Lost it? lost it?...are you SURE you gave it to me in the first place? I don't remember ever having it...)

Yeah, I guess you're right about the poetry/prose balance. To be honest, I reckon it's probably about even,
it just struck me that last week I seemed to be looking at lots of prose..swings and roundabouts, I suppose.
And...ta da! I have now joined the Beginner's Group for prose, so watch out all of you, I'm comin' to get ya!

Glad you liked the opening lines
Bet you're all really looking forward to April!

Could I just ask, is there anyone's RLG effort that I've not commented on? I'm sure I've missed a couple and would like to get to them all, so please shout if a tc commnet hasn't come your way yet.
There are so many of us, I'm losing track!

tc, et al (whoever he is! al capone, al abaster, al green?)

I'm making you response monitor - like we used to have milk monitors and blackboard monitors at school. Perhaps you can make a list of all of those people who have made RLG submissions, and then busy people like me, and Dee and wordy (she's out there somewhere) can make sure we don't miss anything!

Thanks for your help, in all of this.

    John (aka somebody's hero!)

Bugger! Should have kept me gob shut..
I don't actually remember anyone saying you could be boss Jumbo, old bean, and hand out duties. But I suppose if I appeal to Dee and Wordy ET AL (tsk..peasant!), they'll all side with your nomination
    of little ole me!
You're all pickin' on me just cos i'm the only poet, sniff...s'not fair. Big bullies. I'll tell Major Clanger, I will.

Maybe next month, we should ask folk to put "RLG" before the title of the piece, so's it's easy to see which ones are part of this?

    Al here... Al Beseeinyer.

Good idea, John. Give her a job... she's just joined a newbie group... they'll give her more jobs... she won't have time to think of a cruel RLG before Christmas, never mind April.

    Ha ha. Ah ha ha...

Little did you know, I happen to be the world's fastest list maker.

Right-o, according to posts on here, people who have done one, or expressed the intention of doing so, are:
    Jumbo,
    Wordy,
    Dee,
    Daisy,
    eg,
    JamesAnthony,
    Skippoo,
    haunted,
    tc

I guess now I've got to trawl thru the postings and make sure they all did. And pick up any extras who didn't announce their intentions on the thread

I may be away some time..and NO talking about me while I'm gone. You all know Dee always tells me what you've been saying if I ply her with enough G&t's
who's round is it, by the way? So sorry if it's mine, but I've got this dead important job to do, see. Can't let the side down..

Well done, old girl. Super spiffing list. Always knew I could trust you to do a half decent job! (Well, half decent!!)

And you may be away for some time! Where are you popping off to? Don't recall you applying for shore leave? P'raps El Presidento Dee authorised it while I was asleep?

Bring me back some of those Cuban cigars, if you get the chance.

    Bon Voyage
