It happens to me too, and judging by how many novels sag in the middle, we're not the only ones. It may be because it really is boring, or it may be just because you're neither in the all-excited early stages when your brain's teeming with ideas nor in the whizzing-down-the-last-slope chapters when you know everything about the characters, and can't wait to sort them out.
You probably won't know which it is till you've finished, and can go back and pick the exciting wheat from the dull chaff in the middle bit. I don't think I could write the end first, because I wouldn't know what to write, plus wanting to get to the end is sometimes the only thing that keeps me going. But everyone works differently.
