Seconded. It's most certainly good enough to send out. Not only that but the subject matter and the style are catchy enough for it to have a good chance of getting some interest.

As for finger-leakage, and other writing maladies, the secret (as I understand it) is to find that balance between relaxation and control. To much relaxation and the words will flow but they will all be drivel, too much control and you find yourself hopping from one ‘dark and stormy night’ cliché to another. ‘Risen’ shows you found the right balance, not that the talent was accidental. As your other stuff proves.

I've just subscribed to Mslexia (sorry it's a girly mag ) and am waiting for their submission guidelines. If Risen fits I'll probably send it to them... if not, I'll think again.
