Hi
I'd hoped my first post on here might have been about something more exciting, but I need some help please!
I have been advised that the paragraph indents on my manuscript are too small. Is there an easy way in Microsoft word to make these indents larger for the whole manuscript, without having to go through the entire document again a paragraph at a time?
It's probably a really easy thing to do, but I'm struggling to find out just how to do it!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ali, there are lots of people who know more about this stuff on WW than me, but if you do ctrl+A to select all paragraphs, then go to the format menu, then paragraph, and enter a bigger value under 'indentation', I think that should work. I think I usually have about 2cm, but I know some people say an inch.
You may have to nip back and unscramble any chapter headings and so on afterwards.

Ali, how have you been indenting up to now? If you’ve been using your tab key, or entering spaces, you’ll have to undo them before you use the automatic. If you leave them, they’ll indent from where they are, and you'll end up with uneven indents. It’s a pain, but it’s a more professional way to do it, and earn you brownie points with any editor who has to work on your ms.
I use the 1.27 default space (on XP it’s in Format/Paragraph/Special/First line) but you can set any size you prefer.

Thank you both!
I now have it sorted.
I knew it was a good idea to join this site :-)
Thanks again.

Styles are the best way to go with MSWord as you can create tables of contents and do all sorts of rapid formatting. If you are interested, read my post here:
