    Duh! Sorry Catkin, I missed your post when I stopped reading the thread to reply to Terry's comment.

    So that's two writers I know who do the white text thing. It's an interesting idea, and I agree, it's different from dead monitor. The screen is still showing a page and a cursor, and is still aglow, which is comforting, somehow.
