Conflicting information regarding how to set out a radio play. I've read somewhere that each new scene should be set out on a new page. But I've also read this isn't necessary. Which is right, does anyone know?

Never heard of that before. Can't really see the logic in it either.

I heard that play coming back from Southwold last year. Thought it was brilliant. Far better than anything I could hope to come up with in my dreams. Sarah Lancashire is always amazing.
But the size of font in this! I'm using 12 and doubl-spaced. And here they say SECTION 1,2,3 etc. Although, that may be because the whole dram takes place in a coffee shop, practically. Seems to me there's no set layout, which is fine. Maybe I should just count the words.

I've just read it - what an amazing, well put together play. No wonder it won a prize.
Are you still putting together the draft for your arvon course, Jem?

I was writing radio plays (didn't sell one) between 2001 - 2006. I got a Word template from the BBC, and worked in that. They did not, at that time, start a new page for a new scene - a new scene was:
EXT. A GARDEN
or
INT. A CAR
or whatever, in capitals, centered and underlined.
Would you like one of my old plays, Jem? I can't send it tomorrow, but I could send one to you on Monday, if you think it would be any use.

Catkin, that's kind but I'm away on the Arvon radio drama course as from tomorrow and will be without Internet too so no point emailing me anything. I have used that template and thought it was okay till I went on the World Drama page - there was an international radio drama comp - and they said to use a new page to start a new scene. But this was probably just for their competition. I'll stick to what I'm doing, I think.
Thanks, again.

We will all be dying to know how it went! I hope it is a great success.
I'm really inspired now - I want to write another radio play.
