Hello Astrea
I have 7 or 8 books on advice for novelists 'the writer's journey', 'reading like a writer' etc. My favourite is the one you own already... 'On Writing' by Stephen King. It gives down-to-earth, practical advice.
I found most of the others to be a bit pretentious e.g. One writer talked for pages about who belonged to the words on the page, was it the writer as the narrator, or the writer as the main character - it could be either he tells us!!!!! What a geek.
Cheers
Michael

The point going through my mind was that it should be obvious who owns the words on the page, and that this guidance book was not 'down-to earth'. Sorry.
