Just curious, but what size margins do people have on their ms's?

I've just checked mine, because there seems to be a lot of white space, and the sides - left and right - are 3.17cm, and the bottom is 2.54cm. It doesn't give a size for the top strangely!

I think I might change it to 2.54 all round. It uses less paper that way too.

This is with a font of TNR size 12.

Anyone know what is the preferred margin size?

They usually say 'minumum 1"' , which is 2.54. I think that's what I've got.

Though when it comes to marking other people's MS up, I'm grateful if they're wider. But as you say, it uses more paper.
