Is there a technical term for turning prose into dialogue?

Apparently some people in the USA use the verb 'to dialog' but that *ahem* doesn't sit well with me. Is there anything else?

Afraid I can't help, Longhand, unless it's 'to peak'?
Can't think of an occassion when I'd use such a term if one exists.

I don't think there is an existing word, but I'd like to suggest:
to enspeech,
to enloquate
or (if it's for a film or play)
to enscript
as appropriate additions to the dictionary for your purpose.

Maybe there isn't one. I was pondering whether to rework a para as speech and found myself in want of a word...
Entalkulate?
