  • What do you call a metal partition stand that`s full of holes?
by anisoara at 10:52 on 16 November 2004
There has got to be some kind of name for it. Imagine a market with different vendors marking off their space using these metal dividers. Maybe that's what I should call it. But is there a special name when it's full of these holes (because you can hang stuff, then.)

    Any ideas will be appreciated!

I'd say trellis, but I'm not sure if that's not more related to garden type things...

But then again, looking at pictures that's more of a frame?

Frame might be good. Let me put write it in and see how it works.

    Thanks, Ben.

I mean, these would be used to erect temporary walls. Like to create a vendor stall.

Ani, if you’re writing a scene about a market, why not go to a local one and ask the traders what the partitions are called? Tell them you’re writing a novel and they’ll want to be in it.

How about 'big metal stand thing thats full of holes'? Or maybe 'tall flat metal screen that slightly resembles a giant cheesegrater' ?

Ok, maybe not. Is is a divider?
