My next one, 'The Daughter Game' is set in a secondary school! And I had to be so careful with names to avoid anyone I've ever taught, or taught with, thinking a character might be even the tiniest bit based on them. I worry about this, as I had a review of SG where the novelist writing the article said the story 'must be autobiographical' because I'd called the mc Kat. Sigh.

Hmm, it is difficult, isn't it, i've just asked a friend to read my MS and have realized that one character is the spit of her when she was younger.

I've got the longest CV in the world, i did all sorts of job in my twenties, but that is proving quite useful now.

my current book is set in an infants school - well, i did recently help out in one for 2 years!!

Thanks Kate and Casey for answering my question. Yes, it makes sense to base the punctuation on the likely pronunciation.
