school kid or schoolkid?

One word or two? I know 'schoolchild' is written as one word, so I presume 'schoolkid' could be the same, but it's not in any dictionaries!

My vote goes for school kid. I haven't seen it written as schoolkid anywhere.

It looks wrong as one word IMO. Mind you, I think it sounds a little ugly anyway, however you space it.

My corpus has "schoolkid" much more frequently than "school kid", but if I extract the US texts, "school kid" becomes more frequent.

I'd go for two words for UK English and one word for US English.
