Just bought Jane Wenham-Jones's So You Wanna Be A Writer and it has an excellent section on just the stuff we're discussing on this thread, complete with pictures of examples.

Have any of you guys seen this software for writing novels/screenplays online? It seems like they're charging ~$200 for a limited version of Excel for you to do all of the above in. I thought it looked like a bit of a rip-off but wanted to know if anyone had tried it...

Just ordered JWJ's book - this sounds a cracking idea.
My previous plotting efforts having been on A4 pads and/or scrappy bits of paper.
