Hi everyone,
Yes covers and titles are extremely important. I am attracted by a good cover and may even, sad as it may seem, buy it just for that reason alone ...although the content would have to vaguely interest me too, i hasten to add!
But titles....hmm I absolutely loathe, clever clever titles which appear too obscure and a little pompous.. with a perhaps an intellectual smirk lurking behind. I like to be intrigued though... so isn't it a fine line? as with most things though...
As for Harry potter, well.. I think there are things which are innate in us ..like myths and fairy tales and I would think the Philosophers stone..is intriguing enough to pander to something deep inside most people..well it must be...look at the leagues of fans ( 240 million she is worth isn't she?)..she certainly can't be an idiot, but there is always an element of luck , and optimum time for some things... all these were on her side ,
