Just saw this - fascinating pictures. Apparently nobody makes typewriters any more, which is very sad!

i never got on with them. they hurt my fingers, i hated that panic when you realise you've started a word that won't fit on the end of the line, the tippex mess, the ink all over your fingers, etc. i did feel important as a little kid carrying it around though

i love in those pics how they all look as i did as a kid, utterly awkward around it, and pressing each key with the same finger, all hunched over and squinting - haha! the idea that all the greatest authors were all just as uncomfortable with it as the amateur (except for agatha - she looks set!) - it's delicious
