Currently, I'm on a novel called "Crippen, A Novel Of Murder" by John Boyne. Anybody read it?

Nope, haven't even heard of it. I'm reading Umberto Eco's Baudolino. I bought it in September 2002 but have only just now got around to reading it! It's very different from his other work that I've read - much much much lighter. And before that I read Zadie Smith's Autograph Man which I bought at the same time as the above (both part of QPD introductory offer!) And before that Elaine Feinstein's biography of Ted Hughes, which I thought was very well done. And before that Atonement which was part of that same introductory offer mentioned above. I guess I've been rather slow about getting round to those!!!

Currently reading "Porno" by Irvine Welsh, "Tropic of Cancer" by Henry Miller, and "Money" by Martin Amis.

I read Tropic of Cancer a few years ago, but only halfway, and in Russian! I also lost the book. I think when I lost it the narrator was having sex with someone. :-)

Just finished the non-fiction polemic The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf - wish I'd read it years ago. Next up is a novel, Pattern Recognition by Willian Gibson, an Eyeball recommendation.

As for this site, I'm still baffled as to Silverelli's inspiration in his latest story. Dude, you have a vivid imagination

Dude, I'm not really sure who Joan Cusack is, even though I Googled her. She's not one of our native(ish) clan, like Naimh, whom I saw in a play last night and who is married to the lovely Jeremy Irons who was with her in the bar after the show.

As for the unsweet ego thing, I so wish I could be the hard-assed character you describe. But, alas, I'm the one who always seems to get my soul fed into some bloke's German coffee grinder

It's the Robert Downey that lights up a room when he walks in, creates a stir throughout the party, so attractive with his body language and acting skills you are forced to look on to see what comes next. Now I never reached this Robert Downey Jr. potential, but when I would attend parties, my animation and ability to keep a crowd busy and focused was similar to his.

On the other hand, I can be quite a deviant, wierd, and strange as Pee-Wee.

I must learn to check my facts. Jeremy Irons is married to Sinead Cusack, but I promise he was in the bar at the Royal Court with Niamh last night, being stared at by many adoring women (the blokes had Tamsin Outhwaite to keep them happy).

re: The MySpace page. I actually met a girl on there, went out, had a great time. The next day she read the blogs I had posted, wrote me an email saying "I could never take you seriously." So I removed the blog entries after that, we're still friends, but nothing "serious".

Can you imagine if a prospective girlfriend read my stories here before she met me? I don't think I'd ever get a date.

I'm just finishing Kingdom Of Fear, the ripsnortingly funny and ferociously honest and perceptive autobiography of the recently deceased Doctor HST; a biography of Geronimo; and the 7th Fontana book of ghost stories - always good standby's - which has a very creepy story by Davis Grubb, the guy who wrote Night of The Hunter, called Where The Woodbine Twineth........oh, and a superb collection of short stories called Ten Little Indians by a fabulous Native American author called Sherman Alexei. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Do I need to get a life?

Sherman Alexie has a great reputation. I read one of his short stories in BASS and have put his short story collections on my Amazon wish list. He also writes poetry, and other things.
