Just re-reading some Jeeves and Wooster, and being really impressed by how intricate and clever and self-aware his humour is. His one-liners are just so excellently constructed. I think it was 'Ring for Jeeves' I've just been reading, where practically everything Jeeves says is a quotation from Shakespeare, always apt and always hilariously dead-pan. Love it!

Wodehouse is so wonderful. I find he stands endless re-reading, too, which is a real test of comic writing, when you know all the jokes and plot, and it's still a pleasure...

Wodehouse had a fantastic command of English (as well as a very silly turn of humour):

"I could see that while not actually disgruntled he was far from being gruntled"
