    Worth a look.
10,000 words of novel plus synopsis. Free to enter and 100 people can win a Literary Consultancy appraisal. Top 3 go through to a 'leading agent'. Whatever that is

As a reminder, the Literacy Consultancy are also running this
competition for radio and theatre writers.

I don't know anything about TLC, especially how much of an achievement it is getting your work reviewed by them. I'm sure I've seen details of writers festivals where they have a stall and all attendees can have a free review session with them.

Nonetheless they look fairly kosher compared to many similar outfits, and seem to have genuine industry contacts, so probably worth pursuing.

TLC are the original consultancy they more-or-less invented the concept, so also have the highest profile from the publicity PoV. They're wholly kosher, though I think now very big so, like any other such, whether you get out of the process just what you want and need partly depends on who does the assessment.

But a full-blown assessment of a whole novel doesn't come cheap, so there's a lot to be said for trying to get one this way!

Certainly they have good industry contacts - so do others - but I know that most such consultancies pass very, very few MS on to agents, because very, very little of what comes through their door is at that level. So it's never an automatic ticket to being published, and I'd be very wary of any consultancy that implies that it is.

It still looks a great competition to enter. It doesn't seem to exclude any genre like others do. And I think there is probably less chance of being disappointed by this competition as has happened with others recently...!
