I wanted to share this with everyone because the deadline for the Fandango Virtual (publishers of Gator Springs Gazette and Bonfire) short story competition is drawing very close. If you put the main prizes and drawing prizes together, your chances of winning something are very good right now, so if you've got a good story waiting for a comp, this may be your opportunity. Here's the blurb I'm about to circulate:

Deadline approaching for Fandango Virtual 2005 Short Fiction Contest
The 30 November deadline for Fandango Virtual's 2005 Short Story Competition is only days away.
Our contest readers have been kept busy with the entries received to date and at this point the odds of winning one of the prizes are phenomenally high. On the other hand, if you don't enter the odds against winning are extremely strong. We do hope you will not miss your chance to take home the big bucks.
We remind you that cash prizes are bigger than last year (1st—$500, 2nd—$200, and 3rd—$100) and there are bonus prizes to be awarded in a random drawing of all the entrants, including a seat in To Write Well's online course, Impact of Style, valued at $499.
At the moment it appears that almost every entry will at least receive a bonus prize.
