Thanks Phil, had a look at that. My entry was the first three chapters of Zach's Pet which is in the archive now under my write words and has been commented on by several people in the fantasy group, including our site expert.
So am not too downhearted.
Are you going to upload your story for us to have a look at?

Just to cheer you all up. I got the form rejection letter. And then another one exactly the same.
That's how much they hated my entry!

I'm still waiting. Either I don't merit a reply or you got mine as well as yours!

Might upload my attempt after another edit. Looking at my 3 chapters, I've already seen a million reasons why it wasn't accepted.

Sue and everyone,
I got mine today! Same letter as everyone else, offering creative guidance from the Literary Consultancy!!

Debbie, this shows that either the standard was incredibly phenomenally out-of-this-world, or that the organisers have seriously "missed" as your book was both excellently written and captured a story line and images that stay in the mind.

Issy,
Thank you sweetie! I did in fact meet someone the other day (from the MA class) who also sent her script into Newbury like myself. She got a shortlist letter, not the final shortlist, but apparently there was a shortlisting within area, chosen by the Area Manager. Hers was a historical novel for teenagers. Maybe that tells us something about what they were looking for!
