Carter’s Money has come second in a competition run by Bank Street Writers. It will be published in the next issue of their magazine and the £40 prize money is my very first income from writing.

Dawn, thank you. One of my jobs at work today was to trace 69 bottles of organic Italian red. By the time I tracked them down I’d selected a gorgeous mixed case. I don’t know if I can afford this job!
