Two, in fact.
I'm thinking of starting a writing competition website, (nothing like writewords, this will focus on competitions, not be a writing community). Anyway, I've made a 'dummy site', and am running a couple of competitions.
The first of which is a case of matching the author and novel to the opening line of their book. You can win a copy on Inconceivable, by Ben Elton.

The second contest is a short story competition.
To win a copy of Mick Foley's Tietam Brown (a very enjoyable read) you need to write a story of under 1000 words, with a costume integral to the story. If you're wondering where the costume comes from, Mick Foley is a former wrestler, so I thought it was appropriate.
Anyway, if anyone cares to enter, please do so, but I'd also appreciate any comments on the running of things once it's all over.
I'm thinking of having pay to enter contests, with cash prizes in the future, and perhaps if it grows to a decent size I can put out a collection of the stories, similar to other short story magazines out there.
Any thoughts on this?
