Have to say all the Soc of Author's thangs are too far away from me (a plane journey at least)- which is a bummer.
I was invited to a new members drinks thing and had to turn it down.

That said, and back on topic, if anyone wants my limited advice on how to get on the right side of the local press/ journos then just shout.

It is actually surprisingly easy to get coverage from us.

Colin, you just missed the Authors North thing in Harrogate last month. It’s the northern branch of SoA and they hold meetings twice a year. Last one was in Manchester, and the one before that was in Newcastle. I’ll post up a thread as soon as I know where the next one will be.
