Well, I hadn't intended to shout about this, but I've had a rubbish couple of days, and I needed some cheering up. So I thought it might help me to share with you all that one of my stories was picked as one of the winners of Legend Press's Remarkable Everyday 50 Word Competition. It will be printed in their follow up book to The Remarkable Everyday, due to be published in October.

it's actually pretty exciting. It took a while to sink in that something that I wrote will actually be published in a real life honest-to-goodness book, but now that I'm getting my head round that a bit, it's finally putting a smile on my face. (okay, so it's only 50 words, but still, I'm smiling) I just wish I could remember what the story was!

I think telling a story in 50 words is incredibly impressive, and incidentally very good training for a writer. No room for surplus adjectives!

Thanks Nik! It feels pretty good. I had sort of abandoned my writing recently for various reasons, and this has been a wonderful calling back to it.
