This is small-fry in comparison to the impressive successes above, but must share ...
The reasonably prestigious poetry publication Dreamcatcher will include a poem of mine in the issue (13) now coming out. They accepted 3 pieces over the last 2 years, and it's been a long wait to see one in print!
Also, the former Luton Arts Centre called The Artezium has re-opened as The Hat Factory, after a couple of dormant years. As part of the re-opening events, I'm performing a few pieces there with a new Luton-based poetry group called Face It. When? Tomorrow! (Sat 17 April.)

Well done Steve. This celebration forum is very cheering in the way it keeps popping up. Keep at it WW people!

Gosh, well done everyone on all these successes - sorry I haven't replied before but (computer idiot that I am!!) it took me some time to seek out where the forum had gone to!!
Lots of love

How Pleased am I.
I've had a 'Horror' short accepted by 'Thirteen Magazine.' It will appear in the september edition. The story, which was impoved by by critiques given upon this web sight is my first work to be published.
I did create an initial contact with the editor by asking him about the acceptability of expletives in his magazine. I think he did appreciate the initial contact, an it also allowed me to address him less formally with the actual story sub.
Finally...Published.
I'm very very pleased, and owe a lot to the kindly contributed critiques by more experience writer's and people willing to spend time giving advice.
I haven't quite got and 'Oscar Speach' tear, but I'm not far off.
Thanks
Darryl

Wonderful news, Darryl!!!
Which story is it?
Ani

Ani,
It is the recent 'The Wrong Prisoner' but it's been re-worked a little and re-titled. They did seem to like the fact that the real monsters were people and the Werewolf showed compasion to the tramp that survived (Your suggestion, worked in there, so many thanks.)

Well done! Excellent news!

Oh that's really exciting. And I am glad that they liked the monsters being human and that the werewolf showed compassion to the tramp. (And glad that the werewold intercedes on behalf of the surviving tramp!)

Some of you may have seen a piece I recently posted 'Santa rocked by Naughty List Scandal' - well I sent it to news satire site DeadBrain, and they've put it up in time for Christmas:

And I thought it would be a good reason to revive this thread.
