Julie - Hmmm. 10% eh? Sounds like an agent's fee. Let's keep that between ourselves. Not that it's shareable anyway; the prize is one of their courses I think (they said it would be on its way soon).

Dee - Why thanks indeed. I must say the rush of winning something was slightly tarnished by the thought that the later versions were more polished and may have done better. Not that I'm ungrateful, quite the contrary in fact. It's made me think that trying to get something published this year might now be worth a pop. All thanks to the fine folks on this site of course.

Funny it was your wife who sent it off. I sent off one of my husband's photos to a comp and he won!

So, budding writers - don't bother about sending your stuff off to agents, just leave it lying around, seems to be lucky!

Woohoo! Just had the best news i've received in... well, as many years as i can remember.

An article of mine is going to be published in the lauch issue of Zing Review.

I will soon be able to tell people that i'm a 'published' writer, and not be a liar.
