BBC Southern Counties Radio Shortlisting

Had some great news today - a piece I submitted on "Life" has been shortlisted in the BBC Southern Counties Radio competition, and I get to have a one-to-one with Carole Hayman (Ladies of Letters fame) next Friday, and then the piece will be recorded for broadcast during the summer.

I'm thrilled - I've never had a radio success before (must be beginners' luck)!

So pleased for you! I hope it's the start of many more, but in itself it's a fabulous achievement and you must be over the moon!

How did you feel when the letter came? could you tell from the outside that it was good news? I always try to guess through the envelope

No, it's non-fiction actually - "Ten things I know about life, in no particular order" - my attempt at humour!

Ooh, and as an added extra, my agent tells me there's been some interest in my 4th novel, "Maloney's Law", from a German publisher at the London Book Fair - so we'll see how that pans out ...

Thanks, Nell! I'm not sure I'll ever believe it if anyone takes any of my stuff on, to be honest! - "A Dangerous Man" is still struggling to find a home, poor thing - (currently being considered by Flame Books). Been a terrible silence from them since December though ...
