For the sake of your ego, I'd go with the pouncing scenario!
Just a thought, but you might want to make sure they send a copy to the Press Association, a very large and well-respected press agency which provides news and feature material to the local press, magazines, websites etc in the UK. I'm pretty sure they do a book review column which would go to most of local papers across the UK.

Emma, that’s fantastic news. Well done. July 3rd – I shall be looking out for it in my local Ottakers.
All the best,
Dawn

Wow - that's brilliant, Emma. I'm very impressed. Excellent!

Emma,
My comment is one that all men writers should make to all the lady writers (particularly the attractive ones)... 'Just lay back and enjoy it...'
I am sure you, the book, the launch (and the receipts) will all be wonderful!

Many congratulations, Emma. I hope it finds its way to the far east very soon.
All the best

I knew this would happen - wonderful wonderful news. Don't forget to mention those 8 books when you do interviews. S

I've just had a look, it's on page 20 and and it says 'compelling debut'.
Well done, Emma !

Emma,
One part envy, three parts inspiration, six parts congratulations. Amazing news!

Len I won't be making such a comment on the grounds of being afflicted with the homo gene. In future should I tell male writers to bend over and enjoy it?
Emma - don't hold out on us now. How can I get a signed copy?

Emma
How exciting and wonderful. Huge congratulations from me too...

The cover reproduction is tantalisingly small. I thought at first it might be some bare legs on a bed with a kind of red child's spinning top, but it wouldn't spin on a coverlet, would it? Now I think it could be a manuscript not a coverlet, but what the 'legs' are I can't tell at all. Any other ideas before Emma solves the mystery? I think i'll go and look for my maginifying glass...

Arms entwined, I believe.

Well, on closer examination the the upper limb could be a female hand with the thumb stuck up in the air but I can't figure out why the lower one is brown and kind of stunted at the end. Maybe it is a telescope of the old fashioned type, if the hero is a Waterloo veteran, as the description says. Ooh no, that would be a bit rude, wouldn't it?
No more time for speculation - I must take my unread books back to the library and perhaps the mystery will be solved by the time I get back.

Wow! Fantastic news Emma! So wonderful to hear about especially after 8 that didn't qutie get there. That's something to inspire the rest of us in itself - but Time Out review as well.
I have noted July 3rd and will be popping in locally and if they haven't got it will be ordering.
Next thing - the launch. Where will that be?

Ooh, just found a summarised version on the site for you non-Londoners:
