Don't know if anyone saw this, but in Time Out's latest 'books' issue, they have listed new books to look out for this year and The Mathematics of Love is in there!

That's fantastic. Will you still visit us here when you're rich and famous?
-
Brilliant! Congratulations Emma. Well desrved.
May I suggest on the subject of signed copies you get some of those sticky-backed book plate thingies, you can send those more easily and cheaply through the post than a whole book.

Thanks everyone. Soooo exciting - and one I really wasn't expecting. Cover's a bit of a funny shape,
but I'm not fussing!

is that funny ha ha, or funny peculiar? can you describe it for us?

Only peculiar, and not very anyway. The real thing is what my editor rather engagingly calls 'stumpy quarto' - i.e. short and fat (I think 'square royal' is the proper term) - and Time Out have stretched it to be taller and thinner, more like octavo. But as I say, that's being picky!

Very well done Emma, you must be chuffed to bits. I hope you know I also want a signed copy! How do I go about getting one?
JB

Yeah, what Waxy said. How would one go about getting a signed copy?

Well done Emma.
Do you know if this is a result of work by the publishers PR department or has it just been picked up by Time Out?
-
Many thanks, guys. Pub. date is 3rd July, so I'm practising a suitably artistic and unreadable signature for that!
Ken, I imagine a bit of both. Headline Review must have sent them a copy, but to what extent they pounced on it anyway, and to what extent PR cozened the mention out of them with endless follow-up phone calls I don't know. And of course all the publishers would have been doing the same thing at the same time, once Time Out announced the books issue.
