pedalo limited, experts in developing websites for the publishing world including Ian Rankin, Philip Pullman and Jeanette Winterson, are running a series of free seminars in January and February 2006 for authors, writers and journalists interested in learning more about using the web to promote themselves and their work.

pedalo director Tom Porter will discuss the key aspects of web design, including three key questions: As an author, writer or journalist; why should I have a website? What should be on it? How can I get one up and running?

The seminars will explore how a website can work for you 24 hours a day, providing a consistent presence independent of your efforts and budgets. Many authors and writers are polymaths and therefore a personal website can effortlessly
cross promote aligned projects such as novels, journalism, television and film work, appearances and seminars.

Attendees will see interesting examples of how our clients have used their sites to promote their work, engage with their readers and provide content in a unique way.

Pedalo did my website, and I've been impressed by how they both know what they're doing and what authors want, and can explain it to non-specialists, so this seminar should be good.
