    hi all

i made a submission to the saddler literary agency about 6 weeks ago... and am yet to receive a reply... i now think that perhaps the agency no longer exists and that the agent has moved to curtis brown... anyone had any contact with this 'agency'? alas, i didnt out my return address on the back so my submission may well have found its way to the nearest bin (and im moving in a couple of weeks just to compound matters)...!

    ta very much

    Hi

I sent John Saddler a synosis and three chapters about two years ago, and after about two months got a slip back saying they were closed for submissions at that time - an impersonal note. Not what it said online or in the W&W yearbook of course.

Sorry I can't be more help, but they didn't strike me as one of the more 'vocal' agencies.

I have tried to check the state of play with this agency and not had much success. If anyone has any up to date information could they please let me know so that I can update the WriteWords Directory.

    Many thanks.

I'm pretty sure they merged with Curtis Brown a couple of years ago...

    From the Curtis Brown website:

    "John Saddler
Before joining Curtis Brown as a senior agent in 2003 John Saddler ran his own literary agency for three years. A publisher for 14 years, he was until June 2000 Publishing Director of Anchor, an imprint of Transworld Publishers and before that the Editorial Director of Flamingo, the literary imprint of HarperCollins UK. He has also worked as an Editorial Director at Fourth Estate and a senior editor at Corgi and Black Swan. John handles literary and quality commercial fiction and general non-fiction including history, biography, memoir, current affairs, travel, and sports writing. "

    Aruna,

Very many thanks for the info. I'll remove the Saddler entry from the Directory.
