Hello
Does anyone have views on whether it is a good idea to re-visit agents who have in the past turned down your work? It may be an obvious question but I've had some very nice rejections on a manuscript which in hindsight, was not in a publishable state. I am now rewriting with the hope of getting some interest this time round. I chose my agents very carefully the first time round and if at all possible, there are at least two that I would like to re-visit. I'd appreciate any advice...Thanks.

I'd go for it - it can't do any harm!
Good luck!

Well, the worst they can do is reject it again.
Give it a go, but don’t try to pretend it’s something different – they have elephantine memories! Tell them how carefully you chose them the first time, that you’ve completely rewritten, and ask them if they’re willing to read it again.

I'm about to pitch mine to the same agent for the third time. She read the first script, rejected it but suggested a rewrite, then rejected that. I was going to ditch it but found myself working on it again. It's sufficiently different to send out again. I think reworking scripts shows you are serious. Some people get rejected, then use and editorial service, then resubmit. That's what I would like to do this time round.

Shika,
I've wondered long and hard about this too. I wish I hadn't been so enthusiastic the first time I sent mine out! I really went for it, which made me feel as though I burned my bridges.
But I'm interested that people think it's OK. I wonder if any of the site experts agree? Any thoughts?
