I don't know if anyone has come across Richard Weems, a writer and teacher from the states. I signed up some time ago on one of his sites to get notification of different publishers wanting material, - shorts and poetry. Since then I have been receiving a lot of them. I keep them all in a folder now, as I haven't really time at the moment to check them out. I wish I could give you the details of how I got linked up with him, because it could be really useful for writers looking for places to get published. Better than trawling through yourself! A lot of the publishing houses will be connected to universities in the States, but not all, and looking through quickly tonight I saw one asking for work from writers of all ages and from anywhere. If you google Weems up you get a whole page of him. I guess anyone interested would be able to find out how to sign on to this (free) service pretty quickly. All looks genuine.

    Hi Anne,
I hope you can access what I was talking about from there. I'm going to try and find the right link myself again, - I'm a bit hopeless that way.

Found it. The above website leads to another website which has an email link to get on the list: http://users.bergen.org/ricwee/writingstuff/home.htm

Well found Ani. You can always unsubscribe from the list, but he comes up with publishing groups I've never even heard of. Hope it's good for you.
