I heard a very good lecture at Winchester Writer's Conference this year by a PR/Tech specialist in building author platforms. I used to break out in a cold sweat when I heard those words, but I am getting a little (well, quite a lot) more savvy about it all now. I spoke to her on the phone and she said she had been inundated with requests from authors to create a workshop with this theme.
It would be about three hours long and I wondered (on her behalf) how much would any of us be willing to pay for something like this? I thought between £80-100.
There were some excellent workshops available at writers' conferences, but having never done one, I do not know what they cost. I might be completely left field.
Has anyone ever paid for something like this? What would you expect to pay?
My hope is that if you do build an effective platform, it will run itself and you can just get back to writing books.
If she goes ahead with workshop, I will post it here if it is something anyone else would be interested in. (Hope this isn't inappropriate).
If you can help or have any firm ideas, thank you very much!
what a good idea - something we could all do with hearing about.
That's great Freebird - it's pretty interesting and something I knew so little about.
Didn't realise this would be a highlighted post.
