is to cease publication. I am not surprised. Michael Hulse, its editor, is such a dry stick - I did not enjoy my subscription at all! But it's still a shame that one more paying literary print market hits the dust. the short story continues to look bleak here in the UK - ok off my soapbox now!

Re. short story market- yes, but Ali Smith's The Whole Story collection has gone down a storm and Val McDermid's short story campaign (check out her interview) may kickstart things off a bit again- shame it needs to keep being such an issue. You'd think, given our apparently short attention spans these days that short stories would be bigger than ever... so any ideas or thoughts on this would be good. Obviously, one is to keep buying short story collections/anthologies when they come out.
