Found this website recently. It's a company that specialises in Ebooks. They say they are a publisher in the "traditional" sense, but just focusing on Ebooks.

Has anyone heard of these guys? I've done a quick check on them and can't find anything bad on them really. Just wanted to get peoples opinions on whether they might be right for me. They stated they are looking for new fantasy/sci-fi which sounds right for me. Still, I've been down these kinda paths before and got bitten on my ass more than once, so wanna make sure that doesn't happen again.

    Thanks in advance guys.

They are very new - only 5 books out so far. The advantage would be having a professional editor to go over the mss, but without a physical book to stick in the bookshops I guess marketting would still largely be down to the author.

I've just had a look, because I know you're really up for this and it would be great to find a way of publicising your work.

It looks Ok - it does say it's free, after all. The only thing that slightly concerned me is that you can sign up for either the 'Gold Quill' plan or the 'Platinum Quill' plan - with the latter you get a more in-depth service.

I am wondering why they have a two tier system? And if at some point you DO have to pay something to be on the Platinum plan? It seems slightly odd that some authors would be signed up to a second-level service, with lower royalties and less input?

Might be worth investigating a little further.

But under 'Children's fiction', they do list the final book in the 'Hunger Games' trilogy, which is very well known.

I have actually spoken to one of the guys that works there and to be honest it does seem like a genuine publisher. However, they have stated that they don't publishing anything that has been previously published - also, the author is still required to do more of the advertising and that's pretty much what I'm doing with my book at the moment.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing at all, but as I'm pretty much doing that anyway, it's no real benefit to me at the moment. However, they do actually seem like a legit company so they might be worth a look for any future novels I have.

Oh, I didn't spot that. That would ring alarm bells with me because that sounds like a 'subsidy publisher' which is just a fancy name for a vanity publisher where the writer has to pay part of the costs, eg, the editing.
