  • Courier New or TNR?
    by Janstar72 at 12:24 on 24 July 2009
    Hi,

Do publishers want courier new or times new roman for novel MS submissions?

I'm very new to this and I'm just about to start typing up some of my pen written work. Any advice would be greatly received.

I would recommend 12pt TNR rather than Courier New, (double spaced for the chapters).

However, if it's a script, (screenwriting, plays) I've heard that agents prefer Courier New.

Whan you say 'type' do you mean onto a computer? In this day and age manuscripts must be printed off from word processing programs, as Agents won't accept typewriter copies.

    Thank you for that,

Yes I'm typing it up on my laptop. It's just most of the US websites usually state Courier New, so I was a bit confused.
That's why I thought it best to join a UK website.
