I know this is a bit cheesy but they do say better late than never!

I read the link you attatched and it was useful thanks. I have approached an agent as apposed to a publisher and I checked several times to make sure that my style and genre were the type of thing they publish. I sent a cover letter, synopsis, CV and sample chapters as these are what were requested on their website. I tried to phone them prior to posting anything off and I was told that they would accept an incomplete book so I fired away and posted it.

My cover tell is brief... my synopsis is one page... my CV is hazy, how can an unpublished writer have a writers CV?!?

Anyway, time will tell, following this experience I will send cover letters only in future and see where that gets me.
