Just a random thought, when a writer contacts an agent with their 3 chapters plus synopsis etc they would include any writing experience - if they had any - e.g. short story got published on a woman's mag.

Does this include ezines? I wouldn't have thought so, but I guess any formal writing experience is better than nothing... Just to clarify, I have never looked into getting a story published on an ezine - it looks like it could be fun though - but I wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on this.

I would say a cautious 'yes', but it depends on how well known the ezine is.
There's not much point mentioning publication in a minor magazine, ezine, competition, or newspaper which the Agent is unlikely to gave heard of. But if it has a large readership and a competative submission proceedure, then it certainly won't do any harm to mention it.

Hi Steph - I'd agree with that. Perhaps if you just had one thing published on an obscure ezine it wouldn't be worth mentioning, but if you had a few bits and pieces published, that would start to look like a portfolio of work, and I think would make an agent see you in a good light. Shows signs that you DO actually write, for a start! And also of a degree of talent, dedication, self-motivation, etc.

Ok cool, I thought as much myself but it's always better to ask the "experts"

    Cheers for replying!

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but what is an ezine? From the word I guess it's something to do with online publications, but I thought I'd ask.

You guessed right D, it's a magazine published online.
